The food is amazing, You can not only taste but see all the hard work the kitchen puts into each and every meal. The service is also outstanding. The new owners have done wonders with the place, which can be seen through the amazing renovations done on the garden and inside areas, with live music on Sundays. The new owners have done an exceptional job! 100% recommend!!

Had my best friends 60th birthday here, the new owners Amy & Andy are wonderful people who bend over backwards to make sure there guests are having a great night, the staff are fantastic especially Isaac, the food was amazing and the service was top notch! The garden setting is absolutely beautiful, a credit to Andy and Amy! Highly recommended!

I recently dined at the Gold Mines Hotel, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building itself is charming, with a beautiful blend of old-world decor and cozy ambiance. Old photographs of the area and paintings line the walls, while sections of the floor feature classic wood, making you feel like you're taking a step back in time. The atmosphere is warm and nostalgic, perfect for a relaxing meal.I ordered the Gold Mine burger, which I'd rate 3/5. The burger was a bit dry due to the lack of sauce, but the smoky bacon jam really stood out. The 200g beef patty, cooked in a wood stove, was flavorful and juicy, although I would suggest asking the chef to cook it a bit longer if you prefer it less pink. The hand-sliced potato chips were spot on—crispy outside, soft inside, and perfectly seasoned. My partner had the breaded pork cutlet, which she absolutely loved. Portions were generous, and we ended up taking some food to go.For starters, we enjoyed the lemon myrtle calamari with rocket salad, and the calamari was fresh and tender. I paired my meal with an espresso martini, which was excellent, although it was on the pricier side at $20-22.What really stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating to dietary restrictions. Our waitress was especially nice, professional, and prompt with her service, making the whole experience even better.Overall, the combination of great food, warm atmosphere, and attentive staff makes the Gold Mines Hotel a must-visit. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends, and I look forward to dining there again soon!

Just got married here, firstly, the goldmines hotel has a fantastic beer garden. Certainly, the knowledge of the staff helps with the atmosphere.The food is out of this world delicious, the steak was cooked to perfect medium rare, the cocktails were great the bridesmaids had a good sample.All in all, the area is good space and honestly, while weddings are becoming a rarity. The goldmines hotel is truthfully, a great alternative.The new management were very accommodating, I appreciate it a lot a great experience.

Look no further if you’re looking for an excellent lunch or dinner at a warm friendly grand old pub but offers so much more than an average schnitzel!!! Second visit was even better than the first. We had the soft shell crab (the freshest and tastiest I have ever had) and pâte with brioche (also fresh, homemade & delicious). Then we had a ribeye and a scotch fillet with a fresh salad and mash accompaniment with various mustards and sauces - melt in your mouth. Then backed that up with a chocolate tart and homemade ice-creams. Awesome meal. Gorgeous old hotel with a beautiful wisteria out the front and lovely outdoor dining out the back. Great friendly service and a new owner who has been there for 8 weeks and was there in person. Book it and go there immediately!

What a beautiful country pub the food was amazing the staff so friendly and can give you great history information on the old pub , a must do when in Bendigo or just to pop in for a chat and wine at their fabulous bar , we will be back thanks fir a fabulous experience.

Beautiful building. Husband and I had dinner here on a Saturday night. Venue was very busy. We had an early booking so had the front dining room to ourselves for a while. Fireplace roaring. 3 course meal - calamari, a steak each and desserts were chocolate brownie and panna cotta. Staff attentive however, specials weren't told to us and timing off when drinks ordered to accompany main. Meal nearly complete when wines arrived. Would dine again.

What a beautiful old Hotel, full of character and charm. The staff were so welcoming. One of my favourite parts was sitting in the beautiful courtyard, what a great atmosphere! Our Steaks were cooked to perfection and the Pan Roasted Barramundi was to die for. I loved the subtle changes the new owners have implemented as well as keeping their high level of service. Can’t wait to go back.

Wow ! What a beautiful Hotel this is with an amazing vibe and Delicious food . Staff were warm and welcoming and made it extra special for my Husband’s Birthday . The Hand made Dumplings are exquisite and a must . We were so pleased with our dining experience under new ownership and welcomed the lovely fresh changes also. We will definitely be back .

Oh my, what an absolutely gorgeous place. Loving the updates but still keeping the charm of the place. The wood fired steaks were my partners favourite and I cannot speak highly enough of the croquettes for starter and the pannacotta was out of this world. Will definitely be back. We are excited to see the standards are continuing with the new owners and the fresh new changes are so lovely too.

We had dinner here last night, they were very accomodating even though we hadn’t made a booking they found space for us. Once a table freed up they brought us inside. The food was very tasty, and reasonably priced, the service was incredible especially from Amanda and Ash and the venue was beautiful. We definitely will be back!

There is not a bad thing about this place, I mean I guess the menu is a little pricey but wow the food is worth the price. I don't know if there is a Micheline star chef behind those walls but everything was spectacular.The service was beautiful and it feels so comfortable to eat there.THIS is a restaurant and a beautiful gem in Bendigo. This is the place to be
