Just got married here, firstly, the goldmines hotel has a fantastic beer garden. Certainly, the knowledge of the staff helps with the atmosphere.The food is out of this world delicious, the steak was cooked to perfect medium rare, the cocktails were great the bridesmaids had a good sample.All in all, the area is good space and honestly, while weddings are becoming a rarity. The goldmines hotel is truthfully, a great alternative.The new management were very accommodating, I appreciate it a lot a great experience.

After dining here tonight I left feeling hungry and underwhelmed.I have eaten here over 10 times over the last few years and tonight’s meal of gnocchi was nice but a little bland and looking so, I ordered the side of greens and it was over steamed Chinese broccoli, I’ve eaten this vegetable stir fried but never steamed, I nearly threw up of the taste of it.I found the menu could have been a lot better and hero’d more of our local produce like it used to.

Look no further if you’re looking for an excellent lunch or dinner at a warm friendly grand old pub but offers so much more than an average schnitzel!!! Second visit was even better than the first. We had the soft shell crab (the freshest and tastiest I have ever had) and pâte with brioche (also fresh, homemade & delicious). Then we had a ribeye and a scotch fillet with a fresh salad and mash accompaniment with various mustards and sauces - melt in your mouth. Then backed that up with a chocolate tart and homemade ice-creams. Awesome meal. Gorgeous old hotel with a beautiful wisteria out the front and lovely outdoor dining out the back. Great friendly service and a new owner who has been there for 8 weeks and was there in person. Book it and go there immediately!

What a beautiful country pub the food was amazing the staff so friendly and can give you great history information on the old pub , a must do when in Bendigo or just to pop in for a chat and wine at their fabulous bar , we will be back thanks fir a fabulous experience.

What a fantastic pub. Have dined here quite a few times and always a great experience. The food is sensational every time. The wait staff are just oustanding!!!!! If I could give the staff 10 stars I would. Menu has a wide range of options.

This place is first class. Staff were amazing and so welcoming, especially Amanda. Food was excellent. My family and kids walked away having had a delightful experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this place for a nice dinner.

Beautiful building. Husband and I had dinner here on a Saturday night. Venue was very busy. We had an early booking so had the front dining room to ourselves for a while. Fireplace roaring. 3 course meal - calamari, a steak each and desserts were chocolate brownie and panna cotta. Staff attentive however, specials weren't told to us and timing off when drinks ordered to accompany main. Meal nearly complete when wines arrived. Would dine again.

What a beautiful old Hotel, full of character and charm. The staff were so welcoming. One of my favourite parts was sitting in the beautiful courtyard, what a great atmosphere! Our Steaks were cooked to perfection and the Pan Roasted Barramundi was to die for. I loved the subtle changes the new owners have implemented as well as keeping their high level of service. Can’t wait to go back.

Wow ! What a beautiful Hotel this is with an amazing vibe and Delicious food . Staff were warm and welcoming and made it extra special for my Husband’s Birthday . The Hand made Dumplings are exquisite and a must . We were so pleased with our dining experience under new ownership and welcomed the lovely fresh changes also. We will definitely be back .

Oh my, what an absolutely gorgeous place. Loving the updates but still keeping the charm of the place. The wood fired steaks were my partners favourite and I cannot speak highly enough of the croquettes for starter and the pannacotta was out of this world. Will definitely be back. We are excited to see the standards are continuing with the new owners and the fresh new changes are so lovely too.

We had dinner here last night, they were very accomodating even though we hadn’t made a booking they found space for us. Once a table freed up they brought us inside. The food was very tasty, and reasonably priced, the service was incredible especially from Amanda and Ash and the venue was beautiful. We definitely will be back!

There is not a bad thing about this place, I mean I guess the menu is a little pricey but wow the food is worth the price. I don't know if there is a Micheline star chef behind those walls but everything was spectacular.The service was beautiful and it feels so comfortable to eat there.THIS is a restaurant and a beautiful gem in Bendigo. Absolutely amazing experience! Beer garden is beautiful and green in a nice quiet area. Our steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were spot on! Friendly service :) cocktails were awesome!
